The final of the FIFA Club World Cup inside the Nissan Stadium at Yokohama, Japan, has come to a climax with European champions, Chelsea losing by a lone goal scored by Corinthians lethal striker, P. Guerrero in the 69th minute.
From the blast of the referee’s whistle, the Brazilian side wasted no time as they slided into the tackles.
Chelsea however saw their defender, Gary Cahill seeing the red card in the 88th minute and they thought they had got a reprieve when Oscar clipped the ball in and Torres found the net but the goal was disallowed as he was standing in an offside position when the ball was played.
Chelsea therefore lost a golden chance to etch their name on the Club World Cup trophy which has just six European names on it.
Meanwhile, before kickoff, a minute’s silence was obeserved in memory of those killed in the Connecticut school shootings.
