The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of the customer solution, which involves performing technical pre-sales and post-sales support activities in the delivery of the company’s products and services to its customers. The Technical Sales Engineer must also ensure the clients’ and the company’s needs are met by providing support on product, business and technical knowledge. Other responsibilities include to:


  • Provide technical support and address technical enquiries, on the Company’s products and services to existing and potential customers
  • Coordinate with the sales team in formulating and building up proposal knowledge, including making technical demos and presentations to Main One customers
  • Maintain and continually update technical understanding of products and providing advice to other team members where necessary
  • Provide technical input & support to the sales team as part of the sales process
  • Convey customer feedback including feature requests and product issues to Product Management and Development teams
  • Assist in the translation of customer needs/technical requirements to appropriate solutions by liaising with customers to understand, anticipate and meet their specific needs
  • Coordinate and provide technical assistance for pre-sales activities and education
  • Ensure the company’s products and services are clearly, documented and understood by the internal and external customers
  • Develop solutions architecture of customer service and interconnection
  • Interface with Transmission and IP teams in the provisioning process
  • Any other duties as assigned
Supervision:To work directly under the supervision of the Technical Sales Supervisor/Manager


You will be required to liaise and interface regularly with other members of the sales team, product development and marketing teams as well as colleagues from other groups/departments.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:§  A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or relevant field

§  Good understanding of telecommunications/engineering principles, transmission, access networks, IP networks etc.

§  In-depth knowledge of Transmission technologies such as SDH, Microwave, Fibre transmission, etc.

§  In-depth knowledge of IP and IP related Technology and protocols such as BGP, MPLS, DNS etc.

§  Very good knowledge of Main One’s products and services.

§  Good oral and written communication skills

§  Presentation skills

§  Time & self-management skills

§  Relationship Management

§  Team work

Demands of the Job§  Maybe required to work long hours to meet tight deadlines;

§  Ability to work under minimal supervision

§  Some travel may be required
