Arsenal Defender, Santos, Incurs Fans’ Wrath After Asking For And Collecting RVP’s Jersey At Half Time

Arsenal defender, Andre Santos has left fans of the club fuming with rage after it emerged he asked Manchester United striker, Robin Van Persie for his jersey at half time. This came after the former gunner skipper had netted a goal in the opening three minutes.

Former Arsenal defender, Ray Parlour enthused:

“That’s a joke. I wouldn’t have that. At half time?” he queried. “He should be concentrating on his game and he was having a nightmare. He can’t play in a back four as he gets caught out of position all the time.”

Televison presenter and die hard Arsenal fan Piers Morgan chipped:

“If Santos really asked for, and got #VanPursestrings’ shirt as they walked off at half-time, he should never play for Arsenal again.”

Former Middlesbrough striker, Jan Aage Fjortoft added:

“Arsenal give Van Persie a goal. Van Persie gives Santos a Manchester United shirt.”

In the middle of all the jeers and boos from traveling Arsenal supports at Old Trafford, the man at the eye of the storm, Van Persie did not lose his cool as he explained why he didn’t celebrate his goal:

“I played at Arsenal for eight years and had a fantastic time. It was out of respect for the fans, players, manager and the whole club” he said.

Team-mate, Rio Ferdinand had nothing but profound respect for Van Persie as he quipped, “He showed a bit more class than their fans showed to him.”

What’s your view on Van Persie’s reaction to the treatment he got from fans who once supported him?
