Potiskum Residents Living In Fear As JTF And Militants Gunfight Intensifies

Explosions and shooting between the Joint Task Force (JTF) and suspected Boko Haram militants were heard throughout last night in Potiskum, Yobe State.

Some residents, contacted by phone, said that they saw scores of corpses as they attempted to escape being caught in the gunfight, which intensified around midnight.  Some of them said they slept in fear or could not sleep.

In the past few days, the JTF has had similar gunfights with suspected militants as it continues its Cordon and Search Operation in Potiskum.

5 2 bullet proof jackets

6 1,367 (7.62mm) ammunition

7 10 unexploded IEDs

8 42 assorted rifle magazines

9 1 Blue Honda civic car

1 2 Toyota Hilux cars

1 1 Motorcycle

1 2 generating sets

 

6 6 spare tires

1 VHS video cassette

1 1 hard drive

1 1 laptop

Several sim cards

1 1 gas cylinder

1 4 vehicle number plates.
