Gone are the days when women who used to be battered by their husbands will wallow in self-pity and solitude as some women have reportedly died in the process without a word of it going out. But today, Domestic Violence is no longer spoken about in hushed tones as more women are speaking out against it and even men have joined the campaign. This is why top Nigerian superstars and celebrities have joined hands with LWTZE Concept, an initiative of Soundcity’s OAP Olayinka Adamu, to stage a momentous yet unusual walk against domestic violence.
Taking place on Saturday October 13th 2012, the walk would kick off at 10am from Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, where most of Nigeria’s biggest celebrities, activists, advocates and concerned citizens would step out to strategically address the prevalent issue of domestic violence and the disturbing rate of abuses in our society.
Some of the passionate superstars lending their voices to this life-saving crusade include 2face, Ice Prince, Paul Okoye, MI, 9ice,Timaya, Mode9, Tee A, Kween, Kenny Ogungbe, Kennis all star, Labi, Durella, Ali Baba, Tunde Ednut, Dpizle, Rayce, Harrysong, Chidinma, IllBliss, GT Tha Guitarman and Steel amongst others.
