A 23- year old apprentice printer, Chukwuka Okereke, was yesterday arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu for allegedly masterminding the leakage of the University of Nigeria Post-UME question papers which led to the cancellation of the examination recently.
Okereke, an apprentice with Cheston Agency Press Limited, Enugu was arraigned before Justice D. V. Agishi on a two count charge of conspiracy and examination malpractice.
He was arrested by the State Security Service, SSS, in Enugu about three weeks ago following a discreet investigation into the leakage which was described as a major embarrassment to the university.
A Principal Legal Officer from Enugu State Ministry of Justice, Mr. Anayo Edeh, alleged that the accused committed the offence on or before June 14, about five days to the examination.
Okereke was said to have conspired with one Godwin Chukwu, now at large, to commit examination malpractice contrary to section 10 (a) and (c) of Examination Malpractices Act.
The prosecution also alleged that Okereke at the same time and place, with intent to secure an unfair advantage for another person delivered to Godwin Chukwu a question paper intended to be used for post JAMB examination at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka which is contrary to section 1 (b) (2) (c) of the Examination Malpractices Act.

i kip sayn it da Niger wil nt b gud any day.high risks of corruption nd brebry.
With the present level of technology at our disposal it is difficult to believe that some Nigerians are still not availing themselves of this immense opportunity. Knowing the kind of society they find themselves several institutions now print their questions less than 24 hrs before the commencement of the exam. Agreed, that does not totally rule out leakage but it will surely reduce the likelihood. So, UNN, wise up this is 21st century.
I used to believe that UNN set their post-ume question on the examination day. I mean, why would the exam be fixed 9.00am and eventually be written by 4.00pm or even later than that? This is quite unlike UNN,…..5 days before the examinatiön!!….too bad.
How can a school set exam question 5 days to the exam day and expect it not to leak.I thought UNN sets her question on the day of exam. Besides on that day, while some are leaving the hall, others are yet to enter, tell me why the paper would not leak.
This is a sign of corruption on the side of the school management. If all the money collected from students are been used for the purpose the money is meant for. All the schools including secondary schools wuld have been conducted electronically. But see wat corruption is fetching us.
