NAFDAC raises NYSC anti-fake drug awareness body

THE National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has inaugurated a collaborative anti-fake drugs’ awareness initiative with serving National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members.

The maiden NAFDAC NYSC-Community-Development-Service (CDS) group is part of measures to check the menace of fake drugs, substandard food production and consumption.

In an address to the “Batch B” corps members at the Kubwa Orientation Camp yesterday in Abuja, Director General, NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii, said youths’ exposure, level of education and the different communities qualify them as NAFDAC ambassadors of anti-fake medicine.

He said: “Their efforts and commitment will help consolidate on stemming fake food, drugs and other things such as drug abuse or misuse in the Nigeria. Our responsibilities are very large.”

That is why we are calling you to join in our activities. You are enlightened and are also part of the consumers.

“The reason for calling on you for this assignment today is that we want to make your partners. We trust in your abilities. You have the intelligence and will; you can make the change we want and help in achieving our goals”.
