2012 Batch “B” Corpers Posted to Serve in Borno, Yobe, Kano, etc.

The new batch B corpers will be resuming to their respective orientation camps on Monday, 2nd July and prospective corp members have been going to their schools to collect their call-up letters. But for some, what they have found on these call-up letters make the letters seem rather like death warrants.

It is surprising that whoever it is in the NYSC that is responsible for the posting of corp members still see nothing wrong in posting corpers to Boko-Haram-disturbed States such as Yobe, Kano, Borno, etc.

Meanwhile, statements from spokespersons from some of these states have revealed that their government feel that the security situation in these states have been exaggerated, and that it is not as bad as people have made it look. One even claimed that there has not been any reported attack on guests in their own state.

There are also reports that the NYSC have made arrangements with some of the state governments concerning the security of the corp members. Who is fooling who? Is it until families start loosing their loved ones, on whom they have spent fortunes – God forbid – that the right thing will be done?   1. God forbid bad things! Make person wey wan go, go na. Is it by force to do the nysc? After evri sef, work still no dey. Lives indeed aren’t of value to the clueless & hopeless leadership in this country! Parents who love their own beta hold their children back & look for other things for them to do. I’d rathr sell groundnut or corn than offer myself as a living sacrifice for this country!
