Police Reveal How Farouk Lawan’s Commitee Collected Bribes From Various Oil Marketers

Published

on

The House of Representatives was, yesterday, recalled from break as the cash for clearance scandal widened with the Police disclosing that other oil industry interests besides Femi Otedola gave bribes in dollars, pounds and local currencies to the committee.

The revelation came as House members fought back, alleging a systematic attempt by the Presidency and other interested parties to damage the credibility of the report produced by the Farouk Lawan led ad-hoc committee that investigated the implementation of the Federal Government subsidy regime.

It also emerged, yesterday, that Speaker Aminu Tambuwal refused entreaties from the State Security Service, SSS to retrieve the bribe passed on to Lawan by Otedola.  Tambuwal, it was learnt, insisted that his touching the money would mean tampering with the evidence.

The discovery that other oil interest groups allegedly paid bribes to the Lawan committee emerged from the work of the CP Ali Amodu-led Special Task Force investigating the scandal. There were also feelers from the Special Task Force that the $620, 000 bribe money admittedly received by Lawan may have been destroyed.

Lawan who has so far not formally appeared before the Police team investigating the scandal now has a deadline of tomorrow to appear before the Police or be declared wanted.

As a source said yesterday: “Lawan is to appear before the investigation team and say all he knows about the bribery allegations against him or risk the consequences as the Police is empowered by law to take such other lawful steps necessary to help with the investigations.”

Chairman of Zenon Oil, Chief Femi Otedola, who claimed to have given Rep. Farouk Lawan marked $620,000 as part payment of the $3m demanded from him as bribe appeared before the police panel on Tuesday during which he tendered both video and audio evidence of the transaction between him, (Otedola) and Lawan.

A senior Police source told Vanguard yesterday that the investigating team has enough evidence, including the call logs of the discussions between Farouk and Otedola  on where, how and when the money will be collected, as well as the fact that Farouk went to Otedola’s house by 4 am to collect the money.

What the formal president (Chief Olusegun Obasanjo) said about the Nigerian legislators is becoming reality i.e “we have thiefs, rogues and armed robbers among the Nigerian Legislators”

If Farouk Lawan is a rogue the Otedola who offered him bribe is the bigger rogue. Are we saying that Otedola was working with the police or EFCC or ICPC to expose corrupt MPs ? He should be arrested and charged to court for offering and giving bribe to Lawan, as Lawan is culpable so is Otedola. Nigerians should wise up and stop watching or discussing all these staged mellow dramas . Its disgusting .

l believe Farouk Lawan was set up by those oil marketers because why will Femi Otedola informed the police that he bribed Faruok Lawan knowing that the giver is as guilty as the taker. He want to discredit the committee’s report so nigerians will not be talking about the report instead we will concentrate on the bribery allegation which is what is happening now.Nigerians have to always put on their thinking cap before reacting to any issue.

Shame to bad people. Some nigerians re so dull. How can yu be saying its a set up? Y did farouk not alert d police as Otedola did? Going to sombodys house around 4am? Otedola is a very trustworthy person, as his company Zenon only imports diesel which there is no subsidy. Criminals, cultist, thieves, Ritualist. Soon there’s goin to b cleansing in our senate/ Rep.

There is no way the oil petrol subsidy probe report will have any value to Nigeria following this turn of events. Otedola, who may not be a saint, may have just helped us open up the chain of corruption inherent in the so-called National Assembly committees and HORs panels. Let’s not forget that this is the same modus via which the HORs panel on the Power sector & IPPs went down the dustbin after Ndudi Elumelu & his colleagues were found culpable of corruption. How he got re-elected into the same HOR is a wonder.

Faruk Lawan was set up by this our so called leaders and bad eggs of our country, in order to destroy the good image of him. Just becouse he digged out what they dont want the general public to know about the fuel subsidy. I think otedola should be arrested and sentence to prison, for an attempt the bribe the ad-hoc commitee. This shows that he is not a good nigerian. Faruk collected the money in order to expose them and those the them.

If Lawan was set up, why did he fall into their trap if he is a honest person as some of you are making us believe. They are all PEN ROBBERS both the givers and the takers. Ex-Presido has said it all because experience is the best teacher. He gave them during his #rd term agender. He knows them well. Up 9ija!!

Useless idiots, if the law dont start working it will never do. When morons stand and open their dirty mouth and say the legislature was framed or set up and so what, he fell for the trap, he pays the price final and same goes to Otedola the giver.

“Oke Wasn’t Killed By Stray Bullet, He Was Stabbed By Thugs” - Brother Claims
Oke

Oke

Information Nigeria recalls a graphics designer identified as Oke, was killed hours after tweeting “Nigeria will not kill me” on Wednesday.

It was reported that the young man had passed away after he was hit by a stray bullet.

The deceased’s younger brother, Daniel has come out to clear the air regarding the circumstances leading to his death.

Daniel revealed his brother was stabbed on the neck by thugs who infiltrated and ransacked their home.

In his words;

Good day, My name is Obi-Enadhuze Daniel younger brother of the now deceased Okechukwu Obi-Enadhuze @O_Okee . I, my brother and mother lived at makinde police barracks, mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State.

Today at about 11 o’clock in the morning the police station at makinde was attacked by thugs who wanted to destroy the station, I my mom and brother were holed up in our house.

The attack went on for hours before the thugs eventually breached the police and proceeded to set the station on fire, after accomplishing this they set their sights to the barracks and began the assault, they proceeded to destroy every car in the barracks, my mom’s 2 cars where destroyed and set on fire and then they infiltrated our house by breaking the door they then proceeded to ransack the house and carted away with everything we own.

my brother on trying to get them to take everything but spare us was pushed to my mom’s room and stabbed on the neck, the attacker then proceeded to attack me but missed my neck but got my chin instead, after this my mom and I carried my brothers body to the entrance of the station soliciting for help from the thugs still ravaging the barracks, we were finally able to put him in a wheelbarrow and took him to a hospital where he was rejected because “he was already dead” unfazed we moved him to another hospital where he met the same treatment this was where he bled his last drops of blood and died, his body has now been moved to a morgue

we have lost every single thing we own, as our house was completely ransacked and set on fire the only thing left is my brothers phone and at about 8 o’clock this evening the barracks was still on fire but Okechukwu has paid with the ultimate price

I and my mother are homeless with nothing now but we’re safe for now, we thank everyone that has been able to reach out to us, and were able to share consoling words with us in these trying times, God bless you

While we were holed up in the house the three of us said these words together and we say it again ” THREE OF US ARE HERE, THREE OF US ARE TOGETHER, THREE OF US ARE SAFE”

Let it be known that my brother @O_Okee  was NOT killed by a police bullet but died a hero protecting my mother and I.

If you see this please retweet, let the world know how Okechukwu died. He was NOT killed by a police bullet but thugs in his home!”

Youths Burn Down Gov Sanwo-Olu’s Mother’s House In Lagos (VIDEO)Lagos youths have set the family house of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on fire.

This was after the Governor said that no nobody was killed during the shooting by soldiers at Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday night.

Sanwo-Olu had debunked claims that the soldiers opened fire and killed some peaceful protesters.

Recall that men of the Nigerian Army reportedly opened fire on protesters following the declaration of 24 hours curfew by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwolu.
