Pastor Chris Okotie’s Church Releases Statement On His Divorce

The Household of God church has released a statement on the divorce of its founder, Chris Okotie.

The statement signed by the spokesman for the church, Pastor Ladi Ayodeji, stated: “Pastor of our church, the Household of God, Oregun, Lagos, Rev. Chris Okotie, announced his separation from Stephanie, his wife of four years, at the end of service last Sunday.”

Ayodeji, in the three-paragraph statement, said both parties arrived at this decision after careful review of the prevailing circumstances which pointed to the fact that it is the best option for them at this time, adding that both Pastor Okotie and his second wife, Stephanie, have agreed to be silent on detailed reasons for the separation.

“They also agreed not to divulge details of this incident for personal reasons,” the statement added.

Pastor Chris Okotie made the announcement on Sunday, saying “Stephanie and I are no longer married. We have separated. You can see she’s not in church today. It’s due to irreconcilable differences…you should please respect our wishes at this time because there is no going back”

  1. As for me OOº°˚˚˚˚°ºOo I don’t think Mr. Okotie is a real call pastor bcoz if he his he first divorce with his first wife and real married to another one now he is divorcing again wat kind of message is passing to his congrigation to me is nt a PASTOR am so sorry to say dis but is d truth

  2. We are just been Nigerians , making judgements about his life and munistry.Non of us called him to the ministry so dont judge.You are not with him in the marriage,you dont understand what happened and its best kept secrete so that the story will not be too long.Leave okotie alone and let his God judge him.

  3. O boy! Dis one d dude say no going back mean say e pass serious be dat. Kk o. None of us been make dem marry, so….we go just dey look quiet. But sha e no fine for face o, pastor. Members nko? God,him teachings, your example…u no wan imagine d kind damage wey fit happen. Anyhow,me I still dey feel u sha, but I know say ur church vision big pass una ‘no going back’ issues. Enjoy sha. God go help una

  4. Pls tell me,wat example is he layn for members of his church,nd tell,how wud he conduct marriage ceremonies for odas,wateva d situation might have been,he claims to b a man of God,dey could av settled d differences,wat happened to “for better or worse”….

  5. As for me i know and strongly believe that pastor kris okotie is one the fake pastors that is misleading people. in 2007 he said God reveal to him that he is going to be the next president of Nigeria, in 2009 same thing in 2011. he divorce his first wife and happily married to another, now he want to divorce the 2nd wife so dat he can mockingly married to the 3rd one. but nawa for this na9a people. he should continue but he should not allow other people to believe all pastors are same plsssssssss.

  6. This is strange but as always I’d rather not judge cos no one here knows if God actually called him or not. Imagine what people those days would have said about the prophet Hosea (read ur bible if u don’t get my point). It is well.

  7. Silas has said it all…in addition, let every man know that s\he will be jugded by the word of God only. Nothing else.
    @’Pastor Sunday Ola’…thot u said u didn’t want to pass verdict? What did u do eventually? Humans!
    Jugde not folks, as tempting as it may be. Hold fast to the truth you’ve attained & let God!

  8. Judge not, so dat u urself will not be judged; so says d Bible. This issue is simple, the part of d Bible that teaches issue relating to marriage should not be preach or talk about by Very Pastor Chris Okotie.
    I personally find it very disappointing to hear that d wedding that was d talk of d town could hit d wall this quick. Pastor Chris should not try marriage d 3rd as dis may provoke God – God is a merciful father sha! Better luck Pastor!

  9. All this pastors that uses charm in preaching the world of God and uses devorce as their sacrifice to their deity, people like PASTOR CHRIS OKOTIE, don’t worry very soon God is coming to rapture this earth, then you’ll tell SIR i used ur name to heal, to do miracle, then HE WILL DEVORCE YOU, STOP USING GOD’S NAME AS A SHIELD TO COVER UR ILLUMNATI PRACTICE, “YOU OKOTIE!!! Remember what roman 16:16 said, as we said so shall it be!!! ECHO AMEN

  10. @ nucreed …there are divine order man can’t changed,they are God’s standard for us and we have such in marriage, we should gladly pray for restoration of people in such problem not to jeer as God is ever ready to save. If i eventually sounded as a judge in my comment then iam sorry,i just want people to know that our consience tells us whenever we honoured/dis-honoured Bible standard.Thanks for the correction.

  11. Chris Okotie has not showcased the attibutes of a Man of God I’m not sorry to say. The bible is very clear on its position of divorce there’s no But or exeptions. If he looked up to God instead of ‘physical qualities (beauty) to find his life partner I don’t think he would have such ‘irreconcilable diffrences’. He has had a failed marraige before and I don’t think he is setting a good leadership example to the church period!

  12. 2Tim3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
    2Tim3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
    2Tim4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
    2Tim4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
    2Tim4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    2Tim4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
    2Tim4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    Dear Rev. CO, tell the story sowe can take crrection.

  13. Pastor Chris is my man,we all have weaknesses,that is the reason for grace. What we owe him is our prayers. Let’s not take the place of God and be too judgemental though the word still has its strong place. And the scriptures cannot be broken. He needs our prayers

  14. This man is just after lust and he has had it to his fill with henshaw. As a pastor, Chris Okotie should be able to look after his home before the church. This is how the gold~digger wants to mislead Nigerians with his presidential aspiration. FAKE PASTOR

  15. Many of you commenting here are just liars , cheats and hypocrites. Some of you are sleeping with other people’s wives and husbands and you are here judging another person.
    Many of you are shouting ‘good example, good example’ but how many of you copy your own pastors?
    Am talking of the honest, God-loving ones who preach good virtues and strive to live honest lives?
    If you were copying them, wouldn’t Naija be a better place already?
    At least, millions of you attend Oyedepo’s, Oyahkilome’s and Adeboye’s churches, so why havnt we seen an improvement in Nigeria and a drop in divorce rate from members of those churches?
    Before you all start to say he paid me, am a catholic so I don’t send any of your churches. Even we get our own for body.
    But next time, before you go picking the log out of another man’s eyes, remove the beam from yours…
