Constitutional Amendment Remains Paramount – David Mark

During his address on the occasion of the resumption of the second session of the 7th senate on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, Senate President, David Mark reaffirmed his stand on the importance of a constitutional amendment for the country. After having expressed his joys over the achievements of the house, and the fact that they have “not suffered any deaths”, the Senate President proceeded to outline the major plans of the House during this second session.

In the words of Senator David Mark: “May I also emphasize that constitution amendment remains one of our major tasks. This is because we believe that it holds the key to our many structural deformities such as insecurity, endemic corruption, poor governance, dysfunctional and comatose local government system”.

The Senator also reiterated the commitment of the House to carrying out their oversight responsibilities and expose corruption and poor administration in all areas of our national life.

Sounds good doesn’t it? If only our senators can match their words with actions.
