Top Aviation official says rumours of Bomb Blast at Lagos Airport are false

A luggage abandoned by a British Airways passenger triggered panic at the International wing of the Murtala International Airport in Lagos according to Nigerian civil aviation officials.

Soon as the police anti-bomb unit was called to handle the luggage, rumor circulated in Nigeria that the airport had been hit with a bomb explosion.

However,a statement released by  Dr. Harold Olusegun Demuren the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to Saharareporters stated there was no explosion of any kind. He stated that airport security officials only took precautionary measures in handling the luggage according to international procedures.

No Bomb Blast at MMIA. It was an  abandoned carry on baggage/ hand bag with the British Airways tag with pax name Salami A. Atolagbe-Aro was discovered at E – Arr frontage 1948hrs. The Bag was thereafter diffused by three men from Police Bomb Disposal Unit at about 2058hrs. The contents of the bag was taken and were personal effects and currently in the custody of FAAN Aviation Security Crime Investigation Bureau( CIB). BA has confirmed that the pax actua[Receiving Text]ard procedure. They placed the bag under surveillance and went ahead to  open it and thus  creating the sound.

No Bomb explosion.

  1. After giving everybody heart attack.. in Ikeja in some months ago saying they saw a bomb under the bridge, the luggage belong to a mallam coming from north. please people be very sure of any information you post on internet
