ICPC arrests teacher over exam malpractice

THE Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested a school teacher in Akure, Ondo State, for allegedly aiding a students in the on-going WAEC examinations.

Resident Consultant to ICPC, Mr. Folu Olamiti, confirmed that the teacher (name withheld) was arrested following a tip-off from members of the National Anti-Corruption Volunteers Corps (NAVC), Akure Zone.

The NAVC members had reported that some teachers in an Akure school (name withheld) were conniving with some students to cheat in the examinations following, which the ICPC detectives stormed the school and caught the teacher, some students and other accomplices red handed.

However, other teachers and students involved in the malpractice escaped arrest.

The Principal of the school (name withheld) was also arrested. All those arrested are currently at the Ilesa office of the ICPC where they are being interrogated.
