ASUU STRIKE: ASUU suspends strike action, academic activities to resume immediately

At a press conference in Abuja, ASUU announced the suspension of the two-month old strike action and asked its members to resume work with immediately.

ASUU also said that the union will not relent in their efforts to rescue the educational system by pressing home the demands necessary at all times.

The national leadership of the Union had taken the agreement with the Federal Government to branches nationwide. Some branches, including the University of Lagos branch, voted against the suspension of the strike while majority voted in favour of the suspension of the strike.

  1. unna try but at the same time some people no want make unna call am off cos dem neva get bar……………………thanks ooo….cos house don tire us…elenu bi eku!

  2. I want to believe that all the 2009 agreement has been implemented and unanimous conclusion reached not that the strike is only suspended to the future ooo!!! Because i wouldn’t want a situation in the next one or two years where another obnoxious strike action strike up. If at all there will be any, then it should be probably 2016 to whenever they like to end it. I don’t pray for or delight in any strike action whether now or in future, am only vomiting my feelings and expressing the excruciating pain I and other promising and optimistic students feel about Nigeria’s educational incessant strike actions.

  3. I am happy dat asuu finaly called of d strike. But let asuu and fg no dat is d student dat is loosing. D go use 2weeks lecture and 3weeks write exams of wetin dem no teach. God is cin una.

  4. The students of nig.universities have known their fates…… They are happily going to resume, but that of bayero university……what would be their fate when boko haram has plagued the state.

  5. When two elephant fights the grass they say suffers. We the students are the most hunted and vulnerable of this strike action, hope our asuu executives and federal govt are taking note. Pray this strike is called off for real and will never surface in d future.

  6. Finally, ASUU has suspended strike. I hope this nonsense won’t happen in d near future. Am so disapointed wiht the state of Education in this country. I can’t wait to live this fucking and confused country. A big fuck to d Lagos branch of Asuu dat oppose 4 d suspension. They will all die and rot in hell one day……

  7. Una dey craz as una call off d strike, Nigeria de suffer many things ranging from boko haram and many other things and una still declared strike but i no blame una cos many of una pikin de private schools.

  8. Thank God ooo, finally A.S.U.U and F.G kudos to you all.but i hope this is the last strike @ least for a very long time to come meanwhile i wish all my colleagues a safe Journey back to our various Campuses…PEACE!!!daalu nu oooo.

  9. Praise God at last. Please, tell University of Calabar to release the admission list of 2011/2012 so that those who having choosing UNICAL can know how far they can go
