$1.7 Million Dollars Bounty Placed On Gaddafi’s Head

THE National Transitional Council in Libya has  offered a million-dollar bounty for the erst Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, this followed their successful take-over of Gaddafi’s Tripoli headquarters after which they trashed the symbols of his 42-year dictatorship. However Gaddafi remains in hiding and has not been sighted since the rebels overran his  Bab al-Aziziya compound in Tripoli, the Libyan capital.

Meanwhile international powers and the rebel government-in-waiting in the eastern city of Benghazi have already started making arrangements for a handover of Libya’s substantial foreign assets. Washington is about to submit a U.N. resolution to release an immediate $1.5 billion for humanitarian needs. It is said that funds will be required to bring relief to war-battered towns and to develop oil reserves that can make Libya rich.

The Rebels believe Gaddafi may still be in Tripoli and are trying to find him urgently. Burkina Faso and Chad have also recognized the Libyan Rebels as the new Government, Burkina Faso has however granted amnesty to Muammar Gaddafi
